We continued to the airport, having breakfast in the only open establishment, the Bim Burger, nasi goreng, wings, onion rings and hamburgers. We flew with Air Asia and our flight was delayed, from 4 A.M to 5.50 A.M. An hour later we arrived at the Airport in Yogyakarta.

We take a bus that takes us to the center of the city. We get off by mistake in the area of Sosrowijayan, in Malioboro street, it is the area of backpackers, but some friends had recommended us another area and we take a taxi to get there. The hostel is in the area of Prawirotaman, is the Duta Garden Guest House and has a swimming pool, they are very friendly and offer us a tea.
We are in Yogya, although it is not the capital of the island of Java, it is the center of crafts and where their traditions are more visible.

We leave the backpacks, a shower and we go to know the city, we visit the Kraton and the Taman Sari, to which we arrive walking. These Yogya Palaces are the cultural and political center, are composed of a complex of buildings, courtyards and gardens all walled.

There are several entrance gates and we get lost in the streets among batik and silver craftsmen. We have a drink at one of their places. The traffic is very intense outside the wall, especially motorcycles. The shops are arranged by guilds, we are surprised by the funeral parlours.
There are some very curious pushchairs full of lights that go on pedals that can be rented in the Alun Alun park (better in the evening).

We meet Josepo who helps us to get a driver to visit Borobudur, Prambanán and Merapi volcano tomorrow.
We try the famous Javanese beer Bintang, a swim in the pool and dinner in a warung near the hostel. It has been a very long day.

Kraton entrance: 12.500 IDR per pax. I think they charge you an additional 1.000 IDR for the camera.
Dinner: mie goreng and nasi goreng and beers 451.000 IDR 5 pax.
Driver visits temples: 400.000 IDR all day.
