Argentina day 7: Upsala glacier and Onelli bay.

We get up early again, today we go trekking to see the Upsala Glacier.

Our day begins in Puerto Banderas, we take a boat across Lake Argentina that has several arms to access the glaciers.

We skirt icebergs of different sizes and shapes, we breathe an immense peace. Magnificent views of the Onelli, Spegazzini and Heim Glaciers.

We arrive at Estancia Cristina (a mix between farm and guest house), here we take a 4x4. We go up to the viewpoint of the Upsala Glacier. Again the feeling is indescribable, absolutely beautiful.

We take pictures and about twenty minutes later we start the trekking down a canyon 15 kilometers. It is actually a fault and we can see the different strata, how the plates push each other. The condors fly over us, we stop to eat in front of a cliff where they nest. There are fossil footprints and minerals. We continue until we return to Estancia Cristina. Again we take the boat and go back to Calafate.
