The Añisclo Canyon is one of the most impressive places in the Pyrenees.

It consists of two sections, the first of which can be covered by car (not suitable for large vehicles due to the terrain) along a tarmac road that crosses the canyon in one direction only from Fuente de los Baños (near Escalona) in the direction of Nerín.

Again, it is only possible to walk in this direction. Caution must be taken because landslides are common on windy and rainy days, so it is only recommended to stop in the designated areas. It's a great place and if you come to this area you have to do it.

The second section consists of walking along the canyon parallel to the river Bellós. We show you several options depending on your physical condition:

Option 1. Bellón river bridge - Aso river or circular route water from the Mill of Aso

Option 2. Climb up the canyon to the Ripareta waterfall or to the Añisclo pass.

After passing several viewpoints we reach the old mill of the river Aso, which forms a spectacular waterfall. The walls of this old mill are still standing.

We continue back to the viewpoint in front of the hermitage. The views are very nice. Once here continue to the car park again.

We follow the main path parallel to the river Bellós, which we cross over another bridge. Here the canyon opens up a little and we start to see the first waterfalls.

Once we have crossed the bridge, the path starts to gain height. Pools and waterfalls accompany us until we reach Cumaz. Remember not to leave the marked trails as the path is sometimes a bit exposed to the canyon. It is quite shady but quite humid.

In just 20 minutes we reach the waterfall of La Ripareta. A perfect place to have lunch. At this point many people return, we will continue an hour further up through the forest with the opportunity to see more waterfalls. The path gets a little narrower but is easy.
