Today we visit Medellín.
Medellín
We take the subway, it works very well, it is not underground, it also has metrocable, a cable car that covers certain lines.
Santo Domingo Neighborhood
We take the one that goes to Santo Domingo to see the views of the city and the Library Spain (was under construction), in turn you have the opportunity to see life in a typical neighborhood paisa. If you complete the route to the Mirador you can enjoy the best views of the city, only here is it recommended to get off.
Santo Domingo viewpoint
Medellín is a welcoming city but you must be well informed before getting lost in its neighborhoods, we recommend only visiting the most touristy areas.
Medellín subway
Later on we will go downtown, to Berrio Park, to the Candelaria Basilica and to the Botero Sculpture Square.
Botero Sculpture Square
Botero Sculpture Square
All around there are the commercial areas. We have a beer in a local paisa and the owner and a local tell us stories of the city.
Old town
To go back to the subway we go to Bolivar Park, it is not a very advisable area, many people lying in the gardens, prostitutes...
Bolivar Park
You can also visit Pueblito Paisa, a smaller version of a typical village in Antioquia, with crafts and good views of the Aburrá Valley; and the commune 13.
Medellín
On the way back to Poblado we visit a craft market.
Around 9pm we go to the South Terminal, tonight we travel by bus to Armenia to enjoy a few days of the Eje Cafetero.
