Today we return to Madrid.
Arequipa
Our flight leaves at 10.20 pm from Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima. Although we live ten minutes away from the airport by car, in case there are traffic problems, we are in the dining room having breakfast at 7.30 am.
We arrive at the airport at 8:20. There wasn't much traffic, but the taxi driver tells us that sometimes there are such bad traffic jams that people have to run with their suitcases along the road so as not to miss their flight.
After checking in, we enter the international area. There is a currency exchange booth, but they don't give change for amounts less than €20.
Casa Errante Arequipa
Our flight leaves on time. We fly with Air Europa. My seat, the backrest and the screen were stained with chocolate, but the flight attendant solved the problem by putting some blankets over them and cleaning the screen. However, the plane was dirty. The lack of cleanliness on planes is becoming increasingly noticeable.
Eleven hours later, we arrive in Madrid. It is 4 a.m. on the 28th, and we still have a few hours to go before we reach Burgos.
