Today we visited the Dachau Concentration Camp, located about thirteen kilometers from Munich.

We take a local train to get there. Dachau is the first concentration camp. It was built on top of an old munitions factory during the First World War.

Although not all the original facilities have been preserved, several barracks where the prisoners lived have been reconstructed. There is a very interesting museum about the history of the camp with photos and documentation. An audio guide makes your visit easier.

It is overwhelming and frightening to think that we have not learned much from what happened here years ago, you just have to see how the world is. What you see and above all the atmosphere that you breathe makes you reflect and rethink many things.
At the end of the field, the disinfection and cremation chamber. Although it was not an extermination camp, the prisoners were used for experiments. There is also an Orthodox chapel. A must see if you are coming to Munich.

We leave a little touched, return to Munich and have a bite to eat.

Nymphenburg Palace
In the afternoon we visit the Lego store, Asamkirche and the Nymphenburg Palace built as a summer residence for the Wittelbach family. Although what is really spectacular is its gardens and fountains.

We return to the centre and pass by Konigsplatz. We have dinner in the mythical Hofbräus, with a lot of atmosphere, live Bavarian music, good beer and food. The most touristy by far but worth it.
