We have breakfast at the hostel and go to a nearby parking lot to pick up a rental car that we have reserved in advance to come to Zermatt.

The Swiss road network is impressive, conservation, asphalting. To drive on the motorways you have to buy a toll sticker which costs about twenty euros, in our case the rented car already had one.

The landscape is spectacular and as we get closer to the Alps more. It took us almost five hours to get there.

In Kandersteg we took a car train to Goppenstein. You get on the train with the car and travel inside the vehicle itself, very curious.

We continue our way to Tasch, what a beauty, the landscape is spectacular. Here it is obligatory to leave the car as Zermatt can only be reached by train.

In Zermatt there are only electric vehicles for the delivery of goods. The train takes about ten minutes and the price varies if it is first or second class, it is not necessary to pay first class for this journey.

Zermatt is one of the main points of reference for hiking, mountaineering and skiing in Switzerland. It is situated in the south of the country in the canton of Valais at the foot of one of the most spectacular mountains in the world, the Matterhorn. This natural beauty attracts thousands of visitors each year but only the most experienced climbers can reach its summit.

Zermatt is a quiet town worth spending a few hours in.

We leave our backpacks at our accommodation, Hostel Zermatt, and sleep in a shared room for the six of us with a bathroom.

We've been walking the streets of Zermatt. We visited the church of St. Maurice, in the nearby cemetery, and saw commemorative plaques for those who lost their lives on the nearby peaks. We take a walk around, the views are incredible. Every time we look at the Matterhorn I get goose bumps.
