We arrive at six o'clock in the morning at the Bangkok bus station, take a taxi and from the airport we want to get to Surat Thani on the southern coast of the Gulf of Thailand to take a boat to the island of Ko Pha Ngan.
Gulf of Thailand
The wait at the airport is very long, we don't arrive at Surat Thani until three in the afternoon. From the airport there is a bus to the port. Three quarters of an hour later we arrive at the boat.
The boat is slow and takes almost three hours to reach Ko Pha Ngan, it is a mess of iron and makes a tremendous smoke. But on deck it's phenomenal.
Surat Thani
A man approaches and offers us accommodation with transport included. It's a resort about fifteen minutes from the dock near Thong Sala, a port town with banks and shops.
Surat Thani
We arrive at the accommodation and the setting is spectacular. The bungalows are not as luxurious as in Sukhothai but they are fine.
Ferry
We tried to lower the price since we are going to stay several nights, in the end the owner agrees but it has been hard to negotiate.
Sunset
It has cost us a lot to arrive, swim in the swimming pool, have dinner, beer and to rest.
