Thailand day 8: Chiang Mai.

Our friendship dawns better but today we have another casualty. Sonia and I are going to a cybercafé to take some flights from Bangkok to Surat Thani, in the south of the country, paradisiacal beaches are waiting for us.

Today there are three of us again, we take a tuk tuk to get to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. It is located at the top of a mountain, there is a long staircase flanked by nagas to access. Nearby are the palatial gardens and two villages of the Hmong people.

There are lots of stalls, selling everything from typical souvenirs to cooked cockroaches, exactly the same ones we avoid in the street.

The temple is magnificent and has a huge golden chedi. The views are incredible. It's a must.

We see a beautiful waterfall, Huay Kaew Waterfall and pools where people bathe.

We take a transport back to Chiang Mai, we eat all together.

In the afternoon we go back to the market, together with the Valencian women we go to the Riverside to have a beer. It's a bar by the river with live music, there's a lot of atmosphere. Totally recommendable.
