At 1,967 metres high, the Yordas peak is another of the emblematic peaks of the Riaño and Mampodre Regional Mountain Park.

Located on the banks of the Riaño reservoir, the Yordas is intimidating due to its pyramidal appearance, but the ascent is simple and technically easy.

It is also known as Burín or Borín peak. From the highest bench in León you can enjoy spectacular views of this peak.

How to get there

From Riaño take the CL-635 road to the town of Liegos in León. In Liegos you have to take a track for about 2.5 kms where there is a Canadian pass where you can leave your vehicle on the side of the track.

Description

We start our circular route along a well-signposted track that we will follow upwards until we enter a beautiful forest, the Tendeña beech forest. A steep and continuous ascent until we leave the beech forest.

Once through the forest we border an area of crags from where we can see our objective.

We follow the small path marked in yellow between high meadows until we reach the Bayugoso pass.

We continue following the milestones, first to the top and then to the summit. The views are impressive.

We descend towards the Bayugoso pass but we turn to our left to take a path that skirts the Yordas peak.

We go around the peak until we reach the Burín pass, which we descend until we reach the forest again along a well-marked path.
