China and Hong Kong day 17: from Kunming to Hong Kong.

Breakfast at the hostel. What a wonderful terrace the Hump has. Yesterday we booked a taxi at the hostel to go to the airport, but it's 9 am and it hasn't arrived yet, we think they forgot to ask for it and at 11 am our flight leaves. Finally at 9:30 the taxi arrives, fortunately there is not too much traffic and we arrived perfectly.

In two and a half hours we arrive in Hong Kong, the heat and humidity are very high. With more than 7 million inhabitants Hong Kong is a city with enormous skyscrapers, in which tradition and modernity coexist, with great colonial influence and of course Chinese. You can enjoy nature, mountains, parks and even beaches connected by a fantastic public transport network.

To visit the three main areas: the island, the Kowloon peninsula and New Territories, it is not necessary to have a visa if you are a Spanish citizen, although you do need one if you want to get to the commercial area of Shenzhen.

We leave our backpacks and take the metro to Kowloon to meet our friend Yoli at the Eyebar on the 30th floor of iSquare, one of the most modern skyscrapers in the city, which has a terrace with spectacular views of Hong Kong Bay. It's free to go up, if you're not there too long you don't need to use.

We walked in Tsim Sha Tsui through the Avenue of Stars (it's the Chinese version of the Hollywood walk of fame, although it was under construction and we couldn't take the picture with Bruce Lee) until we got to the Clock Tower and its square.

On the way back we chose to cross the bay by ferry (Star Ferry), its a very cheap way to cross the bay and with more charm than the subway.

We had dinner at our friend's favorite restaurant and I'm not surprised because everything is delicious, Xiao Long Bao inside the mall, Crystal Jade restaurant.

Then we go to another terrace this time public and have some beers with the wonderful views of the bay, this time from the Island.
