We leave from Burgos to Valladolid by car. Flight from Valladolid to Milan direct with Ryanair. In just two hours we arrive at Bergamo Airport (Orio al Serio) and we take the Orio Shuttle bus that leaves every thirty minutes from the airport and takes you to the Central Station in the city centre. It takes almost an hour to get there.

Milan is an industrial city with a lot of charm. Beauty and elegance everywhere. If you have the chance, don't miss a visit to the Duomo or Cathedral, the Vittorio Emanuele II Galleries, the Scalla Theatre, the Sforzesco Castle, Leonardo's Last Supper and the Central Station, among others.

You can get around on foot as the centre is not overly large or you can hop on one of the beautiful trams that run through the city.

If you prefer the metro, Milan has four lines and is the longest in Italy. Public transport is fairly inexpensive.

Milan Central Station is one of the largest in Europe with a mix of Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles from the early 20th century. It connects Milan with major European and northern Italian cities such as Venice, Florence and Rome. The building and its vaulted ceilings are spectacular. In front of the station in Piazza Luigi Savoia there are usually temporary exhibitions with sculptures. Don't miss it.

One of the most spectacular buildings not to be missed on your visit to the city is the Milan Cathedral known as the Duomo, one of the most spectacular and grandest Catholic Gothic buildings in the world. Dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente, construction began in 1386.

Candoglia's pink marble exterior is notable for its symmetry, consisting of one hundred and thirty-five spires and more than three thousand statues. The Duomo square is accessed through five large bronze doors. Wonderful.

It has a panoramic terrace that occupies almost the entire roof and allows you to admire the beauty of the temple more closely, as well as enjoying good views.

The interior is notable for its stained glass windows with depictions of the Bible that filter the light, creating a solemn and mystical atmosphere. Long marble columns with carved statues separate the naves. Not to be missed.

In the Duomo square you can enjoy temporary sculpture exhibitions such as this one by Botero. Not to be missed.

Close by is the Gallerias Vittorio Emanuele II. This spectacular shopping centre is home to Milan's most famous and elegant shops and restaurants. Its vaulted and decorated corridors are breathtaking.

In the central octagon is the family crest of the Savoia family, a bull, which is said to bring good luck to those who make a complete turn with their eyes closed on their right foot over the bull. Don't miss it.

Just a few metres from the Galleries in Piazza della Scala is the Teatro alla Scala, one of the most famous opera houses in the world.

It is a sober-looking building on the outside but luxurious on the inside. It was built on the site of the former Church of Santa Maria alla Scala, hence its name.

One kilometre from here is the Sforzesco Castle located in Piazza Castello. It was built as a fortress and is one of the most emblematic buildings in Milan. Inside you will find several museums such as the ancient art museum, a pinacotea or the Egyptian museum. It is a quarter of an hour's walk from Piazza del Duomo but you can also get there by metro, tram or bus.

In the ancient convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie is one of the most famous frescoes in the world, Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. It recreates the Last Supper of Jesus with the Apostles just after announcing that there was a traitor among them.
