It's dawn, the driver wakes us up and tells us we can go. We take a tuk tuk and go downtown. We see the monks again in procession begging.
Tak Bat in Pakse
We don't feel well and we take another tuk tuk to go to one that comes in the lonely but doesn't have a bathroom, so we go to another one nearby, Hostel Phonsavan.
Our elephant
A little shower and we ask in reception to go to Phu Asa and ride the elephant, at the beginning we don't understand each other but the owner arrives and perfect. It's a big deal but all the excursions are. He tells us that if we get two more people he cuts it in half but we don't know anyone.
We have breakfast in a Lao restaurant, Lao soups, delicious.
Road to Phu Asa
Then we go back to the hostel. They take us in a 4X4 to the village where the elephants are. The road is terrible, the rains destroy everything. We ride the elephant for an hour with his mahut. We leave the village and ride along a path in the jungle up to the Phu Asa mountain, what a view. The elephant was trying to get out of the way all the time and the mahut was singing Lao songs to him.
Phu Asa is like a small Stonegen, with ruins of an old temple. An unforgettable experience.

On the way back we see the only means of transport we had left, a motorized plough with people riding on the trailer, these Lao are looking for solutions to everything.

We return to Pakse, eat and wander around in the afternoon, see a Chinese theatre and little more, Pakse is a city of passage. We go to bed early, it's been a long trip and we are very tired.
