Malaysia day 9: Pulau Mabul.

We had breakfast and changed the room bags.

We go to the pier and take a boat to a nearby reef. They leave us in a part of the reef in the open sea, there's a lot of current. The visibility is not as high as for example on Koh Tao, that is why this area is known as muck diving. The variety of fish is immense, we see moray eels, manta rays, puffer fish, clown fish, scorpion fish, urchins, stars, turtles...

We return to the island and rest for a while on the beach before lunch. We meet an Italian couple Luigi and Livia, we start talking in English and end up doing it in Italian Spanish. They are booked on a list to go to the Sipadan Trench, Livia's ear hurts and she prefers to book herself so she snorkels with us this afternoon.

They leave us in the open sea on another reef, we see even more species, some we don't even know their names. Livia is indicating to us.

In the evening she has dinner with the Italians and beers in the bar. They recommend us a place to sleep in Singapore and where to have the best view to see the sunset over the Petronas in Kuala Lumpur.
