Argentina day 12: Lakes region.

We got up early in the morning and booked an excursion at the hostel to tour around the Lake District up to San Martín de los Andes.

 

Villa la Angostura

 

 

The Lake District is the region of the Mapuches, the dominant indigenous group in this area. The tour is called the Seven Lakes Route, from Villa la Angostura to San Martin de los Andes.

 

Correntoso lake

 

 

We go in a van making stops at each alpine lake. The road is a track after Villa Angostura. The beautiful landscape, mountains, araucaria forests.

First stop Lake Correntoso, then Espejo Grande and Espejo Chico. We see a waterfall. We continue with a stop at each lake, the colors, the reflection of the forests in the water is impressive. Finally we arrive in San Martin de los Andes.

Lácar Lake

 

Dominated by Mount Chapelco and surrounded by Lake Lácar, San Martín de los Andes is the end of our journey where we spend the afternoon enjoying the lake.

Back in Bariloche, we had a beer and dinner.
